Nice restaurant inside Normandy Farms. Large bar, specialty cocktails, big wine list. Not only do we just pop in for regular dinners, but I've also hosted my company holiday dinner here for the last 5 years - the food is very good. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is very up-to-date. It should not disappoint.

I will write two separate reviews- one for the bar at The Farmer's Daughter and one for the restaurant. I will preface the reviews by saying that my husband and I were very excited to go to back to Normandy Farm this past weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary, as we were married there October 2012. We went to the bar a bit before our dinner reservation. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the hot pretzels and they were delicious. The sweet potato fries were good too, but the pretzels were sensational. When we went to dinner, the food was decent, not as good as it was for our wedding, even though it was out of the same kitchen. What I was even more upset by was the fact that when I made the reservation, I mentioned it was our anniversay and that we had been married there and were excited to come back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary at the place that we got married. Not that I was expecting anything free at all, it just would have been nice for the hostess or our server to say "Happy Anniversary" or "Thank you for coming back." That was a major disappointment.

Have eaten in the bar several times and am always pleased. The décor is rustic, the sound level is acceptable and the service is always attentive. There are several mounted TVs and an unobtrusive audio system. The bar menu has something for everyone's taste but some of the selections are a little odd. $10 pretzels - really? Sandwiches are large, tasty and are accompanied by either fries or sweet potato fries. Presentation is clever with the meals arriving on slate boards and the fries fitted into a tin cup. The cheese board is excellent. Overall, a lot of pride and care is taken with the food here.

The service was very good as was the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the entrees were hit or miss. I love spicy food, but the chorizo flatbread was too hot for my wife and I to enjoy. The lamb lollipops were great, the scallops were just so-so. Really wanted to like it, will give another try.

Cheese app was good and my filet was delicious. Though steak knives sucked

This is a really cool bar and restaurant! It has an amazing atmosphere and one of the best brunch's I have ever had! I may be a bit biased because my wedding was held on the same property and I now have amazing life-long memories associated with The Farmer's Daughter, but it is definitely worth the price (I may have given it a 4 otherwise). They also have a very nice craft beer selection.

In a converted barn complete with tables nestled in former cow stalls, the Farmers Daughter is certainly rustic, The decor though inexpensively done is comfortable and charming. It's part of Normandy Farms, an former farm, now a hotel and wedding venue. They subscribe to the current trend of fresh farm to table food. We were seated promptly at a comfortable round at our reservation time which is much appreciated. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions for items not available. No fresh mint for the mojitos but the Baybreeze made with cocoanut rum was a welcome substitute. The salads were artfully presented and generously sized as was the pureed pea soup with small cubes of ham. All tasty and passed around out table of 8 with oohs and aahs. My husband thought it the best he evervhad. The Chicken Normandy was not what my husband expected as a traditional dish but their version with tender baked breast was nice; the sides were tasty but undersized for an entree. Two of us ordered the duck, almost impossible to cut even with a steak knife. But the meat was tender- the fat under the skin had not been removed which caused the problem. So what could have been outstanding was mediocre and annoying. The winner of the evening were the short ribs, rich sauce with undertones of burgundy and BBQ, both tender & delicious with more generous sides of mashed potatoes. Desserts were fun, cute presentations but the flavor did not live up to the rest of the meal. The serving dishes were plain white china but in such interesting shapes and sizes that they enhanced the the dining experience.

Ok, really wanted to love this place, recently had funeral luncheon in one of the banquet rooms and everything was perfect! Cannot say the same for this restaurant, will never return. Appetizer & soup served together, poor, poor, poor. Food took over half hour to be served after getting previous served together, was getting ready to pay for what we had & leave just as food came out. Husband had steak, ordered medium rare, served very rare, didn't dare return as this was lunch, didn't have time to wait another half hour. My crab cake sand was good but bun was burnt. Disappointing, server never apologized for wait although someone, I don't know who she was, did apologize for our wait. Hour after leaving restaurant my husband & I were both sick, shared an appetizer. Sadly, we will be future customers.

Excellent food and good wine selection. $20-$30 entrees. Food came out really fast. It actually would have been nice to have some time to digest appetizer before entree arrived.

Our party ordered from both the bar menu and the regular menu. Bar selections ( lobster roll and ham and cheese panini) were outstanding as were the beer battered fries and the homemade chips accompaniments. The beet salad was disappointing - the greens and salad dressing were rather tasteless, although the beets and cheese were delicious. Red snapper fish special was good, but certainly not the best we have ever had. Ambiance is very comfortable, with tables nicely separated and not excessively noisy. Our waiter was excellent. Would have liked a beer menu since he was not able to list all the selections. Also were not given a wine menu. Overall though, a very nice experience which we plan on repeating.
